Anyone that has been listening to the news lately knows that real estate across America is taking a beating. The San Fernando Valley real estate has felt the punch BUT Sherman Oaks Real Estate is still a good investment. With interest rates low and inventory up NOW is the time, for those that have been sitting on the side lines waiting, to jump in. We all heard the news forecast the glut of foreclosed homes that were to flood onto the market over the past few months. Well, out of the over 250 Single Family Homes currently on the market in Sherman Oaks only 11 of them are bank owned and some of those are priced over a million.
Sherman Oaks is a great place to live just ask:

  • Loni Anderson just purchased a Montecito-style, Sherman Oaks home sited on a 10,000-sq-foot lot. The property boasts five bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms in 4,300 square feet. The gated home also has a pool, spa, outdoor fireplace and barbecue on a private patio.
  • Omar Epps, who plays Dr. Eric Foreman the TV series "House," have purchased a Mediterranean-style house behind gates in Sherman Oaks. They paid about $2.2 million. The home was built in 2003 and features six bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms in 5,500-plus square feet. Other features include an office, media room, breakfast room and remote-controlled pool and spa. There is a wet bar in the family room.

Sherman Oaks CA Real Estate is a district of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley, it is 8.1-square-miles . Sherman Oaks Real Estate is bordered by Studio City to the east, Van Nuys to the north, Encino to the west and the Santa Monica Mountains to the south.

In anticipation of the Los Angeles Aqueduct in 1913, Sherman Oaks CA Real Estate was one of the first Valley communities to experience major real estate development. Los Angeles Suburban Homes Co. purchased 47,500 acres of the southeast Valley in 1910. In 1911, a subdivision map called Tract 1000 was filed with Los Angeles County. From that tract, one of the owners of the company, General Moses Hazeltine Sherman, bought 1,000 acres for himself. In 1927, Sherman subdivided the property and sold the land for $780 an acre. Sherman Oaks was incorporated in October 1948 and Sherman Oaks CA Real Estate has been the place to Buy and Sell San Fernando Valley Real Estate ever since.

BUCKLEY SCHOOL (3900 Stansbury Ave., Sherman Oaks): "Friends" star MatthewPerry (who plays Chandler on the show ) attended this private schooling the Valley, after moving here with his family from Ottawa, Ontario. In 1985,he starred in a school production of "Our Town."

BR>NOTREDAME HIGH SCHOOL (13645 Riverside Dr., Sherman Oaks): the celebrity alums include Jerry Mathers, Beaver Cleaver from "Leave It To Beaver" went to this school after the show went off the air . Jimmy Hawkins, the actor who played Jimmy Stewarts the oldest child in the classic "Its A Wonderful Life" still has his letterman jacket from the school. More recent students at Notre Dame include Kirsten Dunst ("Spider-Man", "Drop Dead Gorgeous") and Maureen Flannigan from the TV sitcom "Out of This World.

In recent years the older ranch and Mellenthin homes that lined Chandler Blvd. have been torn and replaced with large Modern and Mediterranean homes. But if you venture into Chandler estates you will still find the the wonderful homes from yesteryear.

birthdays biscuits, "Cafe Unforgettable Cakes" where I buy my birthday biscuits, ANAJAK THAI
which, in my opinion, is the best Thai food in The Valley.
On a sunny Sherman Oaks day it is a nice stroll from Cedros Avenue to Van Nuys Blvd. Stop at The "PINEAPPLE HILL SALOON" and chat it up at the bar and order a veggie burger (my fave)

Sherman Oaks Fashion Square Real Estate

Fashion Square Area Of Sherman Oaks MapThe Sherman Oaks Fashion Square (Now the Westfield Fashion Square) is home to over120 stores and boutiques.
